In Marrakesh, a car is mostly about getting out of the city. The medina is best on foot, but the Ourika valley, the Toubkal, the Ouzoud falls, Essaouira and the Agafay desert are reachable only by road, and organised excursions run on their own timetable. A daily or weekly rental often costs less than two private transfers.
Marrakesh is the furthest city in our delivery area: expect about five and a half hours of driving from Fès. We therefore ask for a little more notice than elsewhere, and the arrangement makes even more sense on a multi-day rental.

The Ourika valley
An hour south and you are in the Atlas. The road is paved as far as Setti Fatma; a city car is enough unless you plan to push onto the higher tracks.
Essaouira and the coast
Three hours on the Essaouira road, with the Atlantic and a steady wind at the end of it. The round trip fits in a day, but a night there is well worth it.
Ouzoud and Agafay
The Ouzoud falls are 2 hr 30 to the north-east, the Agafay desert 45 minutes away. Two excursions that combine easily into a weekend with your own car.
Atlas mountain passes
For the Tizi n'Tichka towards Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate, take an SUV or a 4x4: the road is beautiful but long, and the climbs are hard on a small engine.

Which vehicle should I choose for the Atlas?
For the Ourika or Agafay, a city car or sedan is fine. For the Tizi n'Tichka, Ouarzazate or unpaved tracks, take an SUV or 4x4: more ground clearance and an engine that handles long climbs better.
Can I return the car in Marrakesh after picking it up elsewhere?
Yes. One-way rentals, particularly from Fès or Casablanca, are possible. Mention both cities when you ask for a quote, as the collection is priced by distance.
